This must be an enormous slap and letdown to the Clayton police chief Jeff Turner, to learn that his son, Brandon Turner, was arrested and charged with felony burglary. Media reports state that Turner was arrested after Henry County police were called to a report of a McDonough home invasion. While looking for suspects, officers stopped Brandon Turner, who was driving a car with four passengers. He was found not to be involved in the robbery but had items in his car from a burglary the previous week, police said. Bolton said officers found DVDs labeled with the name of the victim of the April 24 break-in. More than 100 DVDs, jewelry, a camera and other items were stolen from a home at 157 Crown Walk in McDonough, Bolton said. Turner lives in the area.
Atlanta Area Police Chief's Son, Brandon Turner, Charged With Felony Burglary
Posted by Janet Shan | 8:11 AM | View CommentsJeff Turner, who has led the Clayton County Police Department since 2007, said in a phone interview Thursday that he was disappointed. "He has to be held accountable for his actions, and he will be," the chief said of his son. Brandon Turner was released Thursday afternoon on $15,000 bond, officials said. The four individuals who had been riding with him were released without being charged.
He has been arrested for the very thing his father is faced with on a daily basis. One would think that the child of a police chief, who obviously worked hard to rise through the ranks, would not be engaged in criminal behavior. While his father cannot be held responsible for everything his son does, one has to wonder what behavioral issues this young man exhibited in the past. It seems almost hypocritical that his son would be arrested and charged for the very thing he is confronted with on a daily basis in Clayton. I have seen the Chief on television and he comes across as brash and no-nonsense, but I guess he is still confronted with the issues many families are. But quite frankly, this is really embarrassing. Just my thoughts, you be the judge.....
