Scumbag Demario James Atwater, 21, has been charged with first degree murder in the death of University of North Carolina student Eve Carson, according to Orange county district attorney Jim Woodall. Thank God that SOB is off the streets. CNN affiliate WTVD reported that heavily armed police arrested a man at a home on Rosedale Avenue in Durham early Wednesday morning. Shortly thereafter Durham police handed the man over to Chapel Hill police, WTVD reported. Police are have also arrested the other scumbag, Lawrence Alvin Lovett, 17.
CNN affiliate WRAL described the detainee as a person of interest in Carson's killing. WTVD showed video of police dragging a man in handcuffs out of a house and placing him in a squad car, then taking him out of the car at another location.

She received the university's prestigious Morehead Scholarship and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society, according to UNC. Why is it that so many black men are perpetrating many of the crimes we hear about in the media? They are making it really bad for decent, law-abiding, productive black men in our society. This starts from the home and I will continue to say that. Their parents failed them on many levels. It is a shame and these young men should find a way to be productive citizens instead of armed thugs. It is also a sad commentary when we have incarcerated innocent black men because of the perception of blacks and crime. These two men went out of their way to rob this woman and then to kill her. This is a real travesty. While I don't advocate the death penalty under normal circumstances, but given the fact that they have long rap sheets, if they are guilty, they should be given just that. They would rather rob and kill, than even find a way to get into college as this young woman had. They discarded her body on the street like garbage. That is a real shame.
